Indulgent spa treatments

When it comes to romance, nothing beats a luxurious spa treatment for two, and there’s no place more indulgent in Tasmania than the Waldheim Alpine Spa at Cradle Mountain Lodge.

A section of the spa menu is devoted to experiences for couples, featuring wellbeing massages, facials and soothing milk baths to share with your loved one.

Horseback riding

If you and your partner enjoy slightly more physical pursuits, Cradle Country Adventures will escort you on a horseback riding adventure through forests, across alpine plains and miles of untouched coastline.

After the day’s ride, opt to spend a night in their secluded and cosy shearer’s quarters.

A day on the harbour

The only way to see the most beautiful harbour in the world is on a skippered chartered sail boat up the Derwent River.

Throughout the three-hour sailing experience, you will take in spectacular views of Hobart and Mt Wellington, travel to the gateway of the Southern Ocean and return into the harbour by crossing the famous Sydney-to-Hobart finishing line.

Romantic night under the stars

“Glamping” is on-trend right now and there’s no better way to get back to nature – while also enjoying the finer things in life – than experiencing the luxurious safari tents on the Tamar River.

Each tent features European wood fires, queen-sized beds with Egyptian linen and floors lined with richly woven Persian style carpets.

Seaside escape

A seaside town you’re bound to fall in love with is Swansea. Located just under two hours from Hobart, it’s one of the island’s oldest and most charming towns.

With the region’s clean seawaters and inland streams, some of Australia’s best seafood is on offer – think oysters, mussels, crayfish, abalone and fresh water trout!

Our favourite seafood restaurants are Melshell Oysters and Freycinet Marine Farm.

And if you’re looking for a romantic base to explore the Swansea region, the Piermont Retreat is the ideal haven. The cottages feature expansive spa bathrooms with sea views, log fires and cosy bedrooms.

All the glorious food

Holidays are a time to indulge – and when it comes to eating experiences, Tasmania rates incredibly highly.

One of our favourites for dining out in Launceston is five-star restaurant Stillwater, where in-season local produce takes centre stage.

Hobart’s Landscape Restaurant & Grill, with its soft lighting, old world stone walls, and simple, elegant dishes, also creates a mesmerising date night experience.

All the glorious wine

Along with local produce, Tasmania is loved for its first-class wines, in particular Pinot Noir.

When it comes to romance you can’t go past Dalrymple Vineyards, located in Tamar Valley at Pipers Brook.

Make an appointment for a private tasting, where you’ll be treated to views of beautifully manicured vineyards and top-drops, including the Cottage Block Pinot Noir and Single Site Coal River Valley Pinot Noir.
