The Details

Tasting Note Bright crimson in colour. Alluring aromas of blueberry, black cherry, violet and tomato leaf. Silky and juicy on the palate with loads of dark berry fruit that leads to a moreish, mocha-tannin finish.
Best Enjoyed With Pairs perfectly with grilled pork chops or lasagna.
Treatment The Y Series collection are wild fermented, which means we let native yeasts do their thing. We see how things go…like your New Year’s.

Accolades

Plenty of depth
Made in the joven (young) style and sees no oak maturation. Wild fermented and Vegan friendly. Winemaker is Sam Wigan. Full nod to young Rioja joven and made for food/tapas. Cherry, milk chocolate (no oak, remember), blueberry muffin, hints of crushed tomato leaf, bluestone and just a waft of road bitumen. Medium bodied with good concentration, waxy red fruit focus and billowing choc coda.. Rumbly, coating little tannins that scream for protein rich tapa. Shortish finish but plenty of depth for the price point.

Well made
Aromas and flavours of cherries and plums, there’s a light layer of clay earthiness then a tobacco and herb note. Crisp and dry with flavours on the palate led by plum with a mixed berry compote profile. Fine easy tannins and plenty of acidity for texture and length. Well made with best drinking from day of purchase through 2028.
