The Details

Tasting Note Pale lemon in colour. An initial aroma of gooseberries opens up into fresh passionfruit, guava, feijoa and subtle floral layers, evoking summer fields. These aromatics lead into the palate of feijoa skin, passionfruit seed and juicy kiwifruit, finished with crisp acidity.
Best Enjoyed With Enjoy with garlic buttered Tasmanian scallops or a fennel and pomegranate salad.
Treatment This wine is crafted in two distinct batches—one utilising reductive winemaking techniques in stainless steel, and the other wild-fermented using the vineyard's natural yeasts, with oxidative aging in seasoned French oak barriques. The result is a harmonious blend of complexity and nuanced character.

Accolades

Joyous refreshment
My regular readers would know that Sauvignon Blanc is not my go-to but I could happily handle a glass or two of this Parish Vineyard from Tasmania. There is a tropical fruit, herby and minerally thing going on that calls you back for more. Alive with cut green herbs, lemon grass, gooseberries, passionfruit and green melon, a lemon juice sizzle offers a parting gift. A minerally undertow shimmers throughout delivering a wine with vibrance and offering joyous refreshment. It's a really tidy wine. Drink now.

No mistaking what variety this is
Goodness, no mistaking what variety this is. Opens with all the SB things: Passionfruit, gooseberry, green capsicum, box hedge and feijoa…but give it a little air and then some of the pedigree shines through: Cigar ash, jalapeño, black currant pastille, kiwi fruit skin fuzz and earthy bluestone. Clean and direct. Not cloying or hanging out. Good structure, all the canvas used with some of the wild ferment and oak maturation providing a better than average SB experience with nutty and creamy mid palate refinement to balance some austere Tassie acidity. Give me a Tongola Goats Cheese tart and leave the bottle.
